Chère Madame,
vous êtes bienvenue, how are free-thinkers faring upthere ?
r. f. wondered how many lurkers there are on the board.
i don't know the answer, but i will admit that i since a few years am one of them.
i read here almost every day.. like many others here i am an ex-jw, left the organisation about 25 years ago and never regretted it.. .

i take a chance and start my first thread :.
as it has been posted quite a few times lately, there has been a noticeable increase in the posting population on this board (i've added my bit) in the latest few months.
the consequence is that it takes an awfull time to read these posts -all the more so when one is a non native english writer- and one may feel that any posting we would like to do will be diluted in the whole lot, and/or come too late.

Add to this the fact that one has to be selective due to the limited time many of us can spare for JWD, the result is that one just can't catch up with the rythm. Does anyone feel the same ?
longevityhealthfamily/community valueshealthcarepoliitcal stabilitywealtheducationafter much thinking i have decided bhutan is the best place in the world to be born.
it is the only country in the world with a policy for the populations happiness.. in the uk depending on your city your average life expectancy can differ by eight years.
scary!.
I find France is not too bad as a country to be born in, provided it's not in wartime, which unfortunately has not occurred very often over history. Don't know why, I always dreamt of living in New Zealand, but when in London I 'd see plenty of young NZers who were coming over to England to have a merrier life than in their native country, where they said they'd get bored. Is that still true ?
did any of your prayers ever get answered while being a jw even if they where small maybe insignificant?
pesonnally i never really needed my prayers to be answered but one time while the co visited us i was going to work with him durining saturady service i get there at 0930 but service started at 0900. i felt i missed my chance to work with him and show i was commited and i wanted to asked him how i can reconcile the fact i did not believe that noah's flood existed globally with the way the society views it.
i left the kingdom hall pissed off thinking i fu*ked things up, so i kinda said to jah well i messed up gettin some clarity to to my quandry.
"So who knows what GOD does".
Yes, Mouthy, who knows. That's what de Gaulle was implying when, being asked if he believed in God, answered : "we, humans, are like ants under a giant boot, but what do we know about that boot ?" that's the paradox whereby God assures us that we are precious in his eyes and yet much of what we eyewitness in this world tells that life can be very cheap (as a military de Gaulle knew something about it). If we resolve to cling to a faith, what is left with us but believing that He can answer our prayers ? personally, I experienced a couple of times that He gave me a hand when I asked Him, that is, a measure of wisdom or events which turned out for the benefit of my relationship to Him, before and after I got baptized as a JW. I'm afraid we'll have to wait for the new system before we fully understand the ins and outs of God's dealings.
once i overheard the chorus of this rather bad german song on the radio.
since then, it was not the same singing song no 19 "joyful all day long".
1. come rejoice!
It seems Germans are good at inspiring the WTS music : in the 80s, when we still had the K songs in the form of the pink booklet, I remember having heard the overture of a Wagner opera which was just identical to one of the kingdom songs. This KS has been deleted since then. A general explanation had been given in a talk at a DA,saying that the JWs who had composed some of the KS music might have unwittingly reproduced famous ones. That's quite plausible, Chalie Chaplin had the same pb.
the end of may my daughter and i were walking an overgrown path to the river, going to take pictures of each other in the wild roses, when we saw this--right at the edge of the path:.
"mommy, look," she said.
"oh no," i thought.
Superb, Merry, the sort of glimpse we all dream to catch, we unfortunate city dwellers
i just received a call from mouthy regarding her daughter's biopsy (for those of you who didn't know, she had a lump in her breast that they took out).
it is benign, not malignant!!
she's so busy with getting ready to move and company that she just didn't have time to post, but she really wanted to thank everyone for their help.
Mouthy and daughter, and Mary,
I join with you, enjoy the relief !

Hei, Grouper,
Your experience with your CO reminds me of one question I asked mine in comparable circumstances. I said to him, in connection with the real low ratio of JWs to the global population (assuming at that time that they might be "in the thruth" [always hated that phrase]) : well if you see a clockmaker make 1000 clocks and only one of them runs properly, will you put the blame on the clocks or on the clockmaker ? He said lightly : yes but, what if the clocks are free? and then he pretended to watch attentively names on letterboxes, and whistled a little tune, ignoring me superbly. From that day on my opinion was settled that COs are just people working not for the flock's good but for the company that -cheaply- hires them.
hi everyone, i never was baptized but studied for a very long time before i finally got my sanity back and realized that although the individual jws for the most part were good people and doing what they thought was right the org itself was total b.s.
anyway ive been lurking here off and on for a while and figured i would stop being lazy and register.
so hello, i enjoy everyones posts and hope to be around for a while!
Hei, LaL,
Warm welcome from another newbie. Yes, indeed, resisting love bombing requires keeping your head cold, we'll sure appreciate your seating on the fence viewpoint.
I suppose DFW is Dallas Fort Worth or is it that I've been mistaken by an order of a continent ?
